Asatte no Houkou anime

Oh dear, no new posts in ages!!  This is Laserwolf, making a post!  Just what have I been doing?  Well, I have read the whole manga series of Fullmetal Alchemist, 24 volumes in Japanese, since my last post, but since the manga is almost over (might as well finish it before making a post) and since Segue already has a post on that series (albeit the anime rather than the manga) I decided to wait until I had something different to talk about.

Greetings from Laserwolf! And my sincerest apologies.  The site has not been updated for a long time.  I would like to say that will change but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to post more frequently in the near future, nor can I vouch for my counterparts.  Let’s just say we’ll do our best.

I am here to tell you about an anime which captured my heart and made me laugh more than any other series.  Not only that, it made me very hungry.

Tomodachi Collection

Hey everyone, Laserwolf here to tell you about a game that I enjoy playing in Japanese.  The design is very similar to Sims.  However, since I have never played Sims (seriously) I can’t tell you which I think is better.  In any case, this game is a good time waster and a fun way to study Japanese.  The game is currently not available in English, but since DS systems are region-free, you can play the Japanese game should you be so inclined.  I have left detailed explanations of what I consider to be the most important things in the game so anyone studying Japanese should not be too intimidated.

Good evening!  It is I, Laserwolf, to tell you tales of a manga featuring demons and angels and high school students.  Also featuring: lots of romance!  But is it worth reading?

Rust Blaster manga

This is Laserwolf, here to talk to you about the manga Rust Blaster.  What could be more intriguing than a one volume manga with a name like Rust Blaster?  And what do you suppose it could be about?  The cover art is a dead giveaway – it’s about vampires.  But where do rust and blasting come in to this?  The truth is, if there is a reason for this name, it is nowhere to be found in the story.  Please enlighten me if you know.  And now to talk about the manga…

Blue Exorcist manga (volumes 1 and 2)

Laserwolf here.  Once again my curiosity has driven me to buy manga based on its cover.  The truth is, I often wander manga sections and if something catches my eye I buy a copy there and then so that I don’t forget about it later.  This is one of those where I was quite glad I bought it, and had to go out and get the next volume.  Unfortunately there are only two volumes out, but I would like to read more.

Pandora Hearts (manga and anime)

Hello again.  This is Laserwolf writing to tell you all about what has been consuming a lot of my time lately.  A series I didn’t know anything about until I decided to judge it based on its covers (pretty pretty).  Luckily for me, the inside of the manga was even better!

“The Wolf is Coming!” manga volumes 1 – 4

This is Laserwolf here once again to talk to you about manga.  I don’t speak German, but thanks to this manga, I learned the word verboten, and a few other random words.  If you read it in Japanese, you will find the furigana is often giving you German readings rather than English ones, so knowledge of German would probably be a plus and an incentive for you to get into this one.  But besides German, there are plenty of things to enjoy about this manga – such as the awesome ghoul-fighting action!

“Full Moon o Sagashite” manga

This is Laserwolf, here to share with you one manga I will probably never read again.  Not every manga you read is going to be good… and some are horrible.  This is one of the ones that makes me shudder.

“Alice in the Country of Hearts” volumes 1 to 3

Hello!  This is Laserwolf.  Don’t be fooled by the S following Laserwolf.  There are no other Laserwolfs.  Just like the Highlander, there can be only one.

I love reading and the occasional video game, but lately I have been reading more manga than anything else.  Manga is a wonderful study tool; I live in Japan and I want to improve my Japanese but I have no patience for textbooks.  My favorite manga genre is monster/vampire/werewolf/etc.  Because I often get too engrossed in manga to stop and look up words I don’t know, there is a slight chance I have misunderstood things in Japanese.  However, I will not post anything I feel I have not fully understood.  I have a penchant for reading manga that is not available in English yet.  For this, I am sorry for you non-Japanese readers, but please try to look at it this way – I am introducing you to new things, which you can look forward to reading in English in the future.
