About Segue

se⋅gue

/ˈseɪgweɪ, ˈsɛgweɪ/ –verb: to make a transition from one thing to another smoothly and without interruption.

Anime, Manga, Graphic Novels, Webcomics, Video Games –are these things just entertainment, or are they something more?  Are they products, or are they art?  Are they just about entertainment, or do they reflect questions and issues that our generation is dealing with right now?  At Segue, we seek to give these forms of artistic media their due and talk about them as intelligent people–to start with entertainment and end with real life.  Because let’s face it, nerd-dom is a whole lot of fun, but at some point, we all have to log off the computer and be students, coworkers, family members, and most of all, people.

Of special note is that Segue is not going to be an up-to-the-moment blog.  All of the writers do keep up with what is current, but we also like to delve into older media.  So we will write about whatever we come across, be it the latest and greatest game or an obscure anime from the 80’s.  It’s all fair game.
